This is Architecture Building of Altitude 25 by Howard Holdings architect where located in Croydon. The scheme comprises approximately 200 units with a mix of private and affordable housing. With the support of the town planners, the focus of the design is a 25 storey eliptical tower. This structure is proposed to create a new urban landmark within the centre of Croydon. Devereux have been appointed as lead consultant and architect by Howard Holdings plc, having previously designed residential schemes, most recently in Guildford, Surrey for the same client.The site is adjacent to a large hotel, and it is intended that there will be some shared recreational facilities accessible to all residents.

This is Architecture building of Oriental Arts Centre In Shanghai by Paul Andreu Architect. The project comprises three auditoria; 1,979 seat philharmonic orchestra hall, a 1200 seat opera hall and a 330 seat chamber music hall. The building’s three exterior ‘tea cup’ envelopes utilise a special glass diffused with perforated aluminium sheet reducing incident light transmission at higher levels. This gives the building its ‘other world’ appearance and as Andreu describes, “They house and protect them (the performances) as one might protect a place that is precious and fragile.” Managing to create this sense of fragility on a building of this magnitude is another indication of excellent design.

Architecture of Salford Quays in Salford by Huron Basin Architect where situated opposite the Lowry Centre and the Imperial War Museum to the north of Huron Basin along Manchester’s waterfront.The buildings have slim tapered forms and are clad in timber and zinc, with generous south-facing balconies. Described by the council as ‘a sleek and elegant development’ the building is intended to reflect the quality of the nearby buildings and create a bold impression on the corner of the dock.

The draft SPG provides additional clarity and detail to the sections of the London Plan that deal with management of important London views. It includes the geometric management of some views, including London Panoramas and River Prospects, while all the views are also managed through visual assessment and an understanding of the townscape quality of each view. The SPG clarifies terminology and concepts to develop a series of consistent Management Plans, which provide guidance on the ways in which new development should contribute positively to each of the views.

Suisman Urban Design, part of a US think tank have come up with a radical solution for the creation of new Palestine including futuristic infrastructure plans linking the new state to regional transport hubs including Cairo. Core of their proposal is ‘The Arc’, a 130 mile green corridor sweeping through the West Bank and looping into Southern Gaza. It would provide a fast rail and aqueduct. Initial reactions are that the Palestinians love it.

This is Architecture Building of Maglev where located in United Kingdom. The are looking at Shanghai’s 430km/hr Maglev as a possible answer to its growed rail infrastructure crisis. The German company, Transrapid International is working on a ‘pre-feasibility’ study for the government. Costing €32m per KM the scheme would cost €26bn without land acquisition cost. The proposed route would form a much needed north/south backbone through the UK linking London, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, Newcastle and Edinburgh before terminating in Glasgow. China has so far led the way with its pioneering Maglev shuttle between Shanghai airport and downtown Pudong. Other schemes are being considered for Munich, Washington/Baltimore and Pittsburgh.

The project is in one of the most sensitive areas of London adjacent to the east transcept of Wren's masterpiece. The Dean and Chapter of St Paul’s, the Greater London Authority and the Commission for the Built Environment are all believed to be backing the scheme. The site at One New Change will be Nouvel’s first project in London.
